MR. JOHN WILLIAM AMORMINO SR. Obituary
AMORMINO SR.,JOHN WILLIAM Born April 16, 1937. John William Amormino, Sr.'s soul was escorted from our earthly plane on October 14, 2013. Most of his friends knew him as Johnny. He was a reliable friend; he would not only give you his shirt off his back but would buy you a new one. He loved his family and called his closest friends (Rocky Meldrum and Al Ehley) brothers. He enjoyed living life. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Michael Angelo Amormino and Lorraine (both in memoriam). He was the second born, his older sister is Genevieve (status unknown). He was raised by his uncle Joseph Amormino (in memoriam), his Aunt Mary Bommarito and his Grandmother Genevieve. Michaeangelo and his wife Helen (in memoriam) raised three "beautiful" daughters, Joanne Brenning (Don in memoriam), Michele (Harry) Woolrich and Marlene (in memoriam) (Jim Craver). John enlisted in the US Army in April 1959 and served at Fort Lewis, Washington. He served as a corporal clerk, achieved SP4 status and earned a Good Conduct medal. He worked for the Detroit News, the Detroit Free Press and the Macomb Daily for over 25 years as a journeyman and mailer. He married Shirley Larson (in memoriam) in May 1963 and is survived by his daughter Pamela Marie (Kenneth) Hill , John William Amormino, Jr. (Amber Smith) and their three children, Joshua Michael, Julian Alexander and Scarlett Rose. Our Dad was taken suddenly by cancer. We love him so very much and our hearts ache with his leaving. Dad was Catholic and we believe that he is with our mother and his family in heaven. He would not want us to cry as he was joking during his last days. He was able to visit with his brothers (friends) and his close family at the end. The motto he left us was "be true to yourself and be true to others".
