Mr. Walter Paul "Lindy" Hallman Obituary
Walter "Lindy" Paul Hallman, age 85, a longtime resident of St. Clair Shores, died October 25 in Traverse City, Michigan after an extended illness. Born May 11, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan, Walter was married to his wife Joan for 64 years. He was a veteran of World War II (Pacific Theater) and retired from SEMTA in Detroit. He was an active member of Lake Shore Presbyterian Church and enjoyed boating and politics. He was a member of the Detroit Power Squadron, the Bruce Post VFW 1146 and was a Melvin Jones Fellowship Award Winner with the Lions Club. He was precinct delegate for the Republican Party and ran for office on several occasions. He also enjoyed camping, sailing, gardening, and ushering for the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts. He is survived by his sister Joan Evola; three of his children Walter Jr., Eric and Karen; grandchildren, Stefanie, Jennifer, Darryl, Kyle, Brandon and Kyra and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Richard. A memorial service will be held at Lake Shore Presbyterian Church in St. Clair Shores at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 10.
