Mr. Charles Paul Stapleton Obituary
Charles Paul Stapleton, age 91, died February 29, 2012. As an architect and member of the AIA, Charles contributed to additions within the Detroit Institute of Arts and to the design of the Henry Ford Centennial Library in Dearborn, Michigan during the 1960's. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Forces in World War II, and was deployed to both South America and North Africa. In the service, he discovered his passion for flying and ham radio. Charles was a water-colorist, a reader, and a lover of classical music, but his greatest love was for his wife, Ruth, and his family. Beloved husband of the late Ruth; dear father of Susan (Timothy) Norris and Karen Stapleton-Hooper. Dear grandfather of Sarah (Sachyn), Matthew, Walter and Carlos. Also survived by Marion and Claire Kansier and James Hooper. Funeral Mass Monday, 10 a.m. at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 18201 23 Mile Road, Macomb 48042. Visitation Sunday, 12 noon until 9 p.m. at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township 48038. Memorials to St. Jude's Children's Research Fund would be appreciated.
