Mr. Donald R Enger


1942 - 2012 | Obituary Condolences
Donald R Enger, born June 6, 1942, the son of N. Iver and Helen (nee Bernson) Enger passed away on September 20, 2012. Donn attended Alpena Community College, Central Michigan University, and Eastern Michigan University earning his Master's Degree in Education plus an additional 15 credits. He was an art teacher at Utica High School until his retirement in 1997. After retirement, Donn was well known for his stained glass art, his original designs can be found in local galleries, the St. Clair Library, and in homes throughout the country. He married Mary M. Jennings on August 15, 1970. They had three children, Allison (Seth Knox) Enger of Adrian, Peter Enger of Traverse City, and Benjamin Enger of Armada. He also had a grandson, Leif Knox. He is survived by his wife, children, grandson, and two siblings, Eldon (Judy) Enger of Midland and Janet (Richard) Wilson of Linden; three nephews and one niece. He was predeceased by his parents and in-laws. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 4 p.m. at the Armada United Methodist Church, Pastor Curtis Clarke presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Kidney Foundation or the Armada United Methodist Church.
