Mr. John Jerome Fisher Sr. Obituary
John Jerome Fisher, Sr., age 72, died peacefully in his sleep in Orlando, Fla. on July 12, 2012 following a long undiagnosed battle with pancreatic cancer. John is survived by his wife, Hedy Reeves Fisher; adult children, Theresa A. Fisher and fiancé (Dave Schneider), John J. Fisher Jr. (Kathy Curran), Michael R. Fisher (Kristen), Rebecca R. Bailey (Fred); grandchildren, Samantha and Carly Fisher; parents-in-law, Ernestine Brown and William Trent; brothers, Eugene Fisher (Edna), Ralph Fisher; sisters, Mary Jane Busch, Delores Fitzgerald, Theresa Whiteman, Dorothy Marion (Roger); sister-in-law Betty Fisher; adult Godchildren, Monica Fisher, Elaine Strickland, Jim Harris, Lisa Hannema and Denee Smith; many nieces, nephews' special cousins and dear friends. John was born in Van Dyke (now Warren), Mich., November 11, 1939 to Theresa and Michael Fisher. In retirement, John and his wife Hedy moved to Monterey, Tenn. in 1994. John worked for Chrysler United Auto Workers (UAW) at Sterling Stamping for 30 years. In addition to his family, John's passions were golf, reading, gardening and love for fun. His love for fun led him to be especially popular with children. John served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. One of his proudest accomplishments was dedicating three plus acres to create a natural habitat for all native Tennessee plants and trees to welcome deer, small animals, birds, butterflies and lightning bugs. John was a Christian and a Methodist. John chose cremation. There will be a memorial luncheon for John at Maple Lane Golf Club, 33203 Maple Lane Drive in Sterling Heights, Mich. on Friday, August 17 at 1 p.m. Memories or messages may be left for his family at Newcomerorlando.com.
