John W. Pelt Jr.

1932 - 2011

John W. Pelt, Jr., age 78, a 45 year Clinton Township resident, formerly of Roseville, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011. John was born October 3, 1932 in Detroit. Mr. Pelt retired from Massey/Ferguson in Detroit and later from General Dynamics in Warren. Mr. Pelt was a Korean War Veteran and life member of VFW #2358 Neil Reid Post, American Legion Post 0004 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3690. Mr. Pelt is survived by children, Sherrie M. (Greg) Phillips and John M. Pelt; grandchildren, Rebecca and Gregory Phillips, Kelsi, Matthew, and Nichole Pelt; siblings, Jacob Pelt and Rosemary (Donald) Perry. John was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 39 years, Phyllis "Cookie" Pelt; daughter, Susan Pelt; brother, Peter Pelt; and sister, Helen Lechkun. Friends may visit Thursday 5-9 p.m. (with a Rosary recitation at 7p.m.), Friday from 2-9 p.m. (with a VFW ritual at 5:30 p.m.) at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave., Roseville and on Saturday visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Roseville.
