Louis F. Masch Obituary
Louis F. Masch, age 88, Our HERO, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 18, 2012 to be with the Lord. He was born in Warren, Michigan on his parent's farm, on August 2, 1924. Graduating from Lincoln High, at 18 he joined the Army Air Corp serving as a B-24 top gunner and flight engineer in the Pacific. He married, the love of his life, Norma upon returning from the war in November of 1945. He Joined the Detroit Fire Department in 1947, after 25 years of heroic service retired, as a Lieutenant. He then worked for GM tech center as an emission tech for 10 years, retiring again. Throughout life, typically while a firefighter, he worked at various second jobs to provide for his family. A mechanical genius, Lou was always generously willing to help family, friends, neighbors and church, with his time and talents on any project. Louie has gone to our Lord Jesus, after this good life, to join many family and friends, including parents, Louis Sr. and Dora Masch; brothers, Ray and Don Masch and grandson, Stephen Masch, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Norma; his daughter, Carol (Joe) Aiello; his sons, Gary (Betty) Masch and Daniel (Hunt) Masch; grandchildren, Dawn (Sean) Skipworth, Kimberly (Larry) Zebko, Sam (Roxanne) Aiello, Louis (Michelle) Aiello, Michael, Laura and Bethany Masch. Also nine great-grandchildren, Billy (Stacey) Skipworth, Nick Skipworth, Trevor Skipworth, Alyssa, Katelyn and Joseph Aiello, Matthew and Sophia Zebko and Dianne Aiello and one great-great-grandson, Grayson Skipworth. Also survived by brother, Roger (Glenda) Masch. He will be greatly missed, one of the greatest generations, until we all meet again in eternity. Visitation Tuesday, from 5-9 p.m. and Wednesday, from 1-9 p.m. at the Sterling Heights Chapel of the E.J. Mandziuk & Son Funeral Directors, Inc., 3801 18 Mile Road (N.W. corner of 18 and Ryan). Funeral service Thursday, 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, Hoover Road, south of 14 Mile Road in Warren. Mr. Masch will lie instate at church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
