Colten Winkler Obituary

Colten Joseph Winkler
PERRY, GA- Colten Joseph Winkler, 17, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 21, 2013, after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Haynesville. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. The family respectfully suggests contributions in memory of Colten to the charity of the donor's choice.
A lifelong resident of Houston County, Colten grew up in Perry and attended Perry Primary School, Morningside Elementary School, Mossy Creek Middle School, and Perry High School, where he was a member of ROTC. Colten enjoyed Tae Kwon Do and received many awards through the years. He loved being outdoors, and everyone loved him. Colten was always happy, and, according to Jordyn, "He was the best brother."
Left to cherish the memories of Colten are his mother, Dianna Winkler of Perry; his father, Jim Winkler (Nina) of Perry; his twin sister, Jordyn Winkler, and his sister, Angela Winkler, both of Perry; other family members; and many good friends.
Friends may share a special story or leave a condolence for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.

My heart and prayers go out to this family at this horrible time. I do not know this family but I lost my son 7 1/2 years ago in an auto accident and I identify with the hurt and anguish they are going thru. May God keep the entire family in His loving arms.

"Father, many are walking in the valley of grief as they mourn the loss of Colten. May they be inspired by those who turned to you as their refuge and healer and found the courage to move forward. May they find comfort in your nearness Lord. These things I ask in your Precious Name. Amen."
