N. G. Webb October 19, 1931 - May 1, 2016 Byron, GA- N. G. Webb, 84, died Sunday, May 1, 2016. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, in the Chapel of Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron, with viewing and visitation beginning at 11:00AM and funeral at 12:00noon, with military honors. Burial will be private. Rev. Bryant Griffitts and Rev. Rick Odum will officiate. Born in Byromville to the late George Washington Webb and Willie Edna Davis Webb, Mr. Webb served in the United States Army and Army National Guard, and the Army National Guard of Georgia. He was a member of Hardison Baptist Church, had owned and operated numerous businesses in Montezuma and been a car salesman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and playing golf. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Inez Watson Webb; their son, Don Webb, Sr. of Byron; grandson, Donny Webb, Jr. (Olivia) of Fort Valley; daughters of the heart, Susan Smith (Raymond) of Fort Valley and Carol Murner Beatty (Bill) of Bonaire; brothers in law, Tom Watson (Henrietta) of Cochran, and Arthur Lee Watson of Bonaire; and several beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Mildred Jones Durden Walker April 30, 1928 - April 30, 2016 Macon, Georgia- Mildred Jones Durden Walker, 88, of Macon, Georgia passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will held Monday, May 2, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Born in Macon, on April 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Jones Sr. and Mary Powell Jones. She was a member of the Pine Forest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ricky Durden, brother, Robert Lee Jones, Jr. and sister, Katherine Jones. She is survived by her children, Jennifer Durden Shipp (Larry) of Macon; Leon Madison Durden Jr (Mona) of Monticello, Ga.; Kathryn Walker Jones (Adam) of Macon. Laura DeAnn Wood June 30, 1957 - April 28, 2016 Warner Robins, GA- Laura DeAnn Wood passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016. Mrs. Wood was born on June 30, 1957 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to the late James William and Tharon Orita Andrews. DeAnn married James Harvey Wood in December of 1981. She began a career in the medical field working for Dr. Marshall Parker in Warner Robins, where she worked for many years as the office manager. Through the years working there, she touched many lives and enjoyed helping others. DeAnn and her family later moved to upstate South Carolina and continued working in the medical field before moving back to Warner Robins. She was most currently employed at Houston Medical Center, working in the billing department. DeAnn was a two-time breast cancer survivor who inspired and encouraged others who were also battling cancer. DeAnn was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy was found in her beloved family, especially her daughter who was also her best friend. She and her sister Judy also had a special bond that was truly unbreakable. DeAnn will be missed by many. Visitation with DeAnn's family will be Friday, May 6, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. At the family's request burial will be private. Shirley Lahoma Winters Macon, Georgia- Shirley Lahoma Winters, 79, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Graveside services were held at 4:00pm, Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Bradley Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Mrs. Winters was born April 25, 1936, in Hitchita, Oklahoma and had lived in Bradley, Georgia for twenty-seven years before moving to Macon. She was the daughter of the late Hugh Allen Anglin and Annie Rebecca Brandon Anglin. Mrs. Winters was a member of Bradley Baptist Church an gave her time as a volunteer at Coliseum Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband: Gates W. Winters, Sr.; and a sister: Coweta Marie Miles. Mrs. Winters is survived by her step-daughter and spouse: Patsy and Omer Trice; step-son and spouse: Gates W. and Gloria Winters, Jr.; sisters: Wynoma Jeanie Garoutte, Janetta Lucile Cole and Irene Clark and other special friends.
