Sadlo Jr., Charles - Warner Robins  
Charles Sadlo, Jr. April 6, 1942 - May 16, 2015 Warner Robins, GA- Charles Sadlo, Jr., 73, entered into rest on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Charles was born to the late Charles and Nell Sadlo, Sr. in Fort Benning, Georgia. A man of many uniforms, Charles served his country in the United States Air Force, thrilled crowds at wrestling matches and served his community while working for the Warner Robins Police Department. Charles joined the United States Air Force in 1961 and served in Vietnam for several months as part of a reconnaissance team. After his time in the service, he followed in his father's footsteps and joined a wrestling circuit that would find him travelling all over the south. Charles made a final career decision to begin working with the police department in Phenix City, Alabama. Charles and his wife, Jeri, moved to Warner Robins in 1974, where he became an undercover officer with the Warner Robins police department. Throughout his thirty-six year career with the police department he worked undercover, patrol, investigations and retired as Captain. His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of fourty-three years, Jeri Sadlo; daughters, Gina Sadlo, Warner Robins and Marnell Sadlo, Alabama; grandchildren, Tiffany Sadlo and Brittany Hester; great grandson, Joshua Hester; brother, Greg Vaught (Dottie); sisters, Sue Brookins and Phronia Vaught, all of Alabama and several other family members. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Schlenker, Margaret Jenks - Gaston  
Margaret Jenks Schlenker Macon, Georgia- Margaret Jenks Schlenker, age 88, of Gaston, Indiana died on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Cottages on Wesleyan, in Macon, Georgia. Margaret was born on November 23, 1926 in Akron, Ohio to Katherine Fairweather Jenks and Robert Jenks. Her sister, Katherine Jenks Stewart and brother, Peter Jenks both preceded her in death. She graduated from Oberlin High School in 1944 and Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, Illinois. She married the late Gordon Schlenker in 1948, and moved to Gaston, Indiana, where they built a house adjacent to his grandmother. Margaret lived in her home for 64 years, until she moved to Macon, Georgia to be closer to her two daughters. Margaret loved books. In her early years of marriage, she enjoyed public speaking and gave book reviews to various clubs and organizations. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Gaston Methodist Church and later Gethsemane United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school. Margaret enjoyed entertaining, cooking and people. In the late 1980's and 1990's she worked in catering, and later became the food site manager for food at Gillespie Tower, Muncie, Indiana. After catering, she was a receptionist for Cornerstone Center for the Arts, also in Muncie, until January 2014. Margaret was a generous person, ready to listen or to pray with anyone; always leaving herself last. Her Christian faith and family were most important to her. She devoted much of her life to her two daughters. Although separated by many miles, she kept up with her daughters' activities praying for them and their families every day. Margaret is survived by her two daughters: Bonnie Hinshaw (Creede) of Macon, Georgia and Linda Seitz (Harold) of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren Jess Hinshaw (Beth) of South Korea, Jeremy Hinshaw (Brandi) of Macon, Georgia and Jacob Hinshaw of Denver, Colorado; great grandson, Graham Hinshaw of Macon, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was loved by many and will be missed everyday by her daughters. A private funeral will be held at Zion Cemetery in Gaston, Indiana in the morning of Tuesday, May 19, 2105. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 1:00PM, followed by a 2:00PM memorial service at Meeks Mortuary, 415 E. Washington Street, Muncie, Indiana. Shoup, Melvin Gene - Kathleen  
GySgt. Melvin Gene Shoup, USMC (Ret.) February 24, 1938 - May 18, 2015 Kathleen, GA- Melvin Gene Shoup, 77, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015. Melvin was born on February 24, 1938 in Angola, Indiana and was of the Baptist faith. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps with three tours in Vietnam. While in Vietnam, he received 31 air medals with Combat V including the Republic of Vietnam Air Gallantry Cross with Bronze Wings Award and the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V. Subsequent to Melvin's military retirement, he went on to retire from both Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, Inc. Melvin loved the United States Marine Corps and was devoted to his country, but most of all, he adored his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Alice Sommerlott Shoup; and brother, Jerry Shoup. Melvin's memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 46 years, Vesta Asby Shoup of Kathleen; sons, Victor Shoup (Terese Lunde) of Alpharetta and Mitch Shoup of Lake City, Florida; grandchildren, Ashley Shoup, Alex Rodrigues, Ethan Shoup, and Hunter Shoup; brother, Allen Shoup (Mary) of Palatka, Florida; sister-in-law, Roberta Hopkins of Aurora, North Carolina; and several adoring nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. In her retirement, Pauline enjoyed reading and crocheting.
