Thomas, Sgt. Myrtice Marie - Warner Robins  
Sgt. Myrtice Marie Thomas Warner Robins, GA- A Memorial Service Celebrating the Life of Sgt. Thomas will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, December 18, 2014 in the chapel of Jones Brothers Mortuary. Pastor Harold B. Simmons will officiate. Interment services will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville. Sgt. Thomas, 65, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 in Dublin. A Macon native, Myrtice was born to the parentage of the late Myrtice Tufts-Thomas and Eddie Thomas, Sr. She was a retired Master Sargent who served with honor and distinction in the United States Army. Survivors include her father, Eddie Thomas, Sr.; stepmother, Geraldine Black Thomas; seven sisters; three brothers; and a host of other relatives and friends. Thompson, Rev. Alec Frasier - Forsyth  
Rev. Alec Frasier Thompson June 18, 1926 - December 18, 2014 Forsyth, GA- Rev. Alec Frasier Thompson of Forsyth, age 88, died Thursday, December 18, 2014. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Forsyth on Saturday, December 20, 2014, followed by graveside services at 4:00 p.m. at the Thompson Family Cemetery in Ailey, GA. Visitation will be held at Monroe County Memorial Chapel on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Rev. Thompson was the pastor of Southern Baptist churches in North Carolina and Georgia from 1944 to 2013. His pastorates were West Millen Baptist Church, Millen, GA; Smithville Baptist Church, Smithville, GA; First Baptist Church, Lithonia, GA; National Avenue Baptist Church, New Bern, NC; First Baptist Church, Beaufort, NC; Woodland Hills Baptist Church, Atlanta, GA; Grove Level Baptist Church, Dalton, GA; and Clayton Baptist Church, Clayton, GA. He also served as interim pastor for three middle-Georgia churches after retiring from the full-time pastorate: Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Bolingbroke; Tattnall Square Baptist Church, Macon; and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Forsyth. He was supply pastor for many other area churches after moving to Forsyth in 1990. Rev. Thompson was a graduate of Brewton-Parker College, Mt. Vernon, GA., Mercer University, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC. He served in leadership positions and on numerous committees for local Baptist associations and the Georgia Baptist Convention. Rev. Thompson is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ernestine Prescott Thompson, from Millen, GA. and by their children, Mary Barton, Jonesboro; Norma Thompson, Macon; Ernie Thompson (Pat), Barnesville; and Joe Thompson, Forsyth. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Ross Barton, Cleveland, Ohio; Carly Thompson, South Bend, Indiana; Krista Thompson, Barnesville; Courtney (Kevin)McBroom, Columbia, SC; Eric (Jessica) Thompson Macon and Daniel (Allison)Thompson, Forsyth, and by great-grandchildren, Tyler Connell, Barnesville, Carys Thompson, Macon, Joey, Anna, and Phil Thompson, Forsyth. His sisters, Louise Braddy, Tarrytown; Myrt Johnson, Cartersville, Melba (Carl) Lehman, Lithia Springs, and Marian (Clyde) Dunn, Milner, also survive him, as do several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry and Trudie Walker Thompson; brothers, Ed, Wade, Ray, and Don; and sister, Evelyn. Trimble, Joan Harrill - Macon  
Joan Harrill Trimble 11/08/38 - 12/16/14 Macon, Ga- Joan Harrill Trimble, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, after a long battle with multiple health issues. Joan was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She had a generous and loving heart combined with a great sense of humor. She touched many people with her presence and smile. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift of her life. Joan was born in Pierre, South Dakota, on November 8, 1938. She lived most of her childhood in Greensboro, NC, with her parents and sister. After graduating from high school, she attended Brenau University on a full scholarship as a voice major and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. After graduation, she moved to Macon, GA to pursue a career in the field of teaching. Upon moving to Macon, Joan met her husband, Kenneth Alfred Trimble. They were married 48 years. Joan was a teacher at Tattnall Square Academy for 18 years. After retirement, she returned to Tattnall as a substitute teacher. She loved her students and her fellow teachers. She was a long time member of Tattnall Square Baptist Church where she enjoyed working in the children's ministry, teaching children's Sunday School, singing in the choir, and working in Vacation Bible School and the youth group. Joan also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, reading, and flower arranging. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Alfred Trimble; daughter Sarah Ellen Barron; granddaughter, Taylor Trimble; grandson, Joshua Barron; parents, Henry and Patricia Harrill; uncle, Jess Harrill; brother-in-law, Mike Schmid; and brother-in-law, Tommy Trimble. Joan is survived in death by son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Amy Trimble; daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and Neil Stevens; son-in-law, Ridley Barron and his wife Lisa Barron; grandchildren, Caleb Stevens, Harrison Barron, Meredith Trimble, Colin Stevens, Abby Barron, Morgan Heckman and Landon Pegram; sister, Judy Schmid; aunt, Sarah Harrill; cousins, Alex Harrill, Cindy Harrill, Nancy Harrill and Kelly Harrill; brother-in-law, James Trimble; sister-in-law, Janet Trimble; sister-in-law, Evelyn Trimble; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 21 at 2:00 PM at the Perimeter Church Chapel located at 9500 Medlock Bridge Road, Johns Creek, GA 30097. The Reverend Ridley Barron will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends following the service at a reception in the ministry center located in the bottom floor of the chapel. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Joan Trimble to the Perimeter Church All In Campaign, 9500 Medlock Bridge Road, Johns Creek, GA 30097.
