Jackie Shirey Hattaway Tharpe Macon, GA- Jackie Shirey Hattaway Tharpe, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 21, 2015. A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. William Hardee officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Jackie was born in Laurens, County to the late Silas S. and Mattie Lou Shirey. She was preceded in death by siblings, S.W. Shirey, Buford Shirey, Montie Shirey, Essie Diers and Grace Hall. She was a master cosmetologist for over forty years and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Tharpe of Macon, sons; Jeffery Delano Cook, Bart (Debra) Tharpe, Scott (Elisa) Tharpe, grandchildren; Victoria Cook, Harrison Cook, Brent (Jamie) Tharpe, Timothy Tharpe, and Brandon Tharpe, sister, Joyce (Jere) Deihl and sister-in-law, Lessie Shirey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Vigna, Bob - Macon  
Bob Vigna Macon, GA- Robert L. Vigna, (Bob), 83, passed away May 21, 2015 from cancer. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with burial at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday in Georgia Veterans Memorial Gardens, Milledgeville. Pastor Craig Holmes will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Vigna, son of the late William and Hazel Lettie Payne Vigna, was born in Fairmont, WV. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and was a salesman with Heilig-Meyer Furniture Co. Bob Vigna, as everyone knew him, was a warm and very caring man. He'll be missed by everyone that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Vigna; two sons, Robert W. Vigna (Denise) and Christopher A. Vigna; seven grandchildren, Courtney, Anthony, Nicole, Dominic, Mitchell, Avery and Alyssa; one great grandson, Jase; two brothers, Pat and Tommy; several nieces and nephews. Committal service will be private. Mrs. Breedlove passed away on peacefully Thursday, May 21, 2015. She was a member of Roberta Baptist Church and the Homemakers Club of Crawford County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollin Breedlove; parents, Clarence and Sally Lou Pierson; son, Kenny Breedlove; daughter, Marian Lasseter and brother, William Pierson. Survivors include one son, C.M. Mamie Hazel Stanton Bull October 26, 1939 - May 15, 2015 Warner Robins, GA- Mamie Bull, 75, passed away Friday night May 15, 2015. Mrs. Bull was born October 26, 1939 in Panola, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Pinkie Ann Stanton. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Moses Bull; 2 sons, Michael Bull (Fran) and Mark Bull (Jennifer); 4 grandchildren, Meghan, Michael, Matthew and Micah; 4 sisters, Mary Sharpe of Detroit, MI, Susie Steward of Adamsville, AL, Bessie Stanton of Panola, AL, and Ethel Spivey of Norcross, GA; 2 brothers, Rev Thomas Stanton (Connie) of Muncie, IN, Robert Stanton (Dorothy) Detroit, MI along with several nieces and nephews. Mamie and Moses were wed in Boston, MA in 1968. They moved to Warner Robins (Robins AFB) in 1974. She was a faithful member of Community Church of God in Macon GA. She worked as a school Crossing guard for 15 years. Mamie volunteered, as a driver, for Meals on Wheels for 38 years. She was an avid neighborhood and Houston Mall walker for over 35 years. Elliott, James Sewell - Macon  
James Sewell Elliott December 20, 1922 - May 19, 2015 Macon, GA- James Sewell Elliott passed away peacefully, May 19, 2015, at Carlyle Place in Macon, GA. He was a native of Augusta, Georgia and made his home in Macon. Mr. Elliott was a graduate of Augusta's Richmond Academy and held degrees from The Citadel, Charleston, SC and the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. After graduation, he was commissioned in the United States Army and married the love of his life, Mary Jones Grace of Macon in 1947. He and Mary soon relocated to post-war Japan where he served as an Officer under the command of General Douglas McArthur, United States Army and Supreme Commander. He retired from the military with the rank of Major. He graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University Law School in 1953. He practiced law in Macon until his retirement in 2001. Mr. Elliott was a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Macon/Bibb Bar (past president). He was the assistant U. S. Attorney of the Middle District of Georgia and served a term as a member in the Georgia House of Representatives, Post 107. He argued several cases to the United States Supreme Court, where he litigated and argued the case of the petitioner, in a Search and Seizure case that defended and made law precedent in defense of the 4th Amendment. Mr. Justice Frankfurter concurred in the judgment of his deliberation. Among his numerous volunteer services, Mr. Elliott served as Chair of the Bibb County Republican Party, president of the Kiwanis Club of Macon, Chair of the Executive Committee of the Community Planning Council of Macon and Bibb County, member of the Board of Trustees of the Macon YMCA, vice-president of the United Givers Fund and Chairman of the annual Cancer Drive. Mr. Elliott was a member of the American Legion, the Gridiron Society of the University of Georgia and the Idle Hour Club. He was a communicant at Christ Episcopal Church. Sewell Elliott was pre-deceased by his wife Mary Jones Grace Elliott of Macon and his son James Sewell Elliott, Jr. (Gina); his parents, Lester Franklyn Elliott and Frances Sewell Elliott of Augusta; and his sisters Constance Elliott Hurden of Augusta and Frances Elliott Simmons of Atlanta. He is survived by his sons, Lester Franklyn Elliott, II, MD (Tracey) of Atlanta, Walter Grace Elliott of Macon, Randolph Squire Elliott (Kathy) of Winter Park, FL, and Robert Bruce Elliott (Margaret) of Macon. He is survived by his grandchildren, Mary Grace Elliott of New Hampshire, Elizabeth Ballard Elliott of Atlanta, Patrick Randolph Elliott of Indonesia, Curtis Mathew Elliott (Emily) of Winter Park, FL, Grace Alexandra Elliott, Hollye Susanna Elliott, Frances Alden Elliott, all of Atlanta, Robert Bruce Elliott, Jr of San Diego, CA, and James Sellers Elliott of Macon. He has one great-granddaughter, Caroline Elliott (Curtis and Emily). The family wishes to thank the services of his long time legal secretary, and dear loving friend, Mrs. Sandra Green, and his devoted care taker, Ms. Doris Braswell. The family would also like to thank the terrific staff of Stafford Suites and Harrington House at Carlyle Place. Services for James Sewell Elliott will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, the 22nd of May, 2015. A graveside service will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Very Reverend Harriette Simmons officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the home of Bruce and Margaret Elliott, 214 Country Club Road.
