Survivors include seven children: James (Barbara) Guyton; Cynthia Brooks; Lorenzo (Alicia) Cooks; Charles (Ida) Cooks; Sylvester (Andrea) Cooks; Delores (Darnell) Appling and Michelle (Freddie) Simmons; a host of Grandchildren; Great Grandchildren; Great Great Grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Holcomb, H.E. "Gene" - St. Mary'S  
H.E. "Gene" Holcomb St. Mary's, Georgia- H.E. "Gene" Holcomb passed away on January 18, 2015 in St. Mary's, Georgia. Memorial services will be held in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2:00PM, with Dr. Ben Haywood officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Lottie Moon Mission Offering, First Baptist Church Kingsland, 295 East Chester Street, Kingsland, Georgia 31548. Mr. Holcomb was born in Marietta, Georgia to the late Julius Newton Holcomb and the late Cleona Elizabeth Rainey Holcomb. During his time in Macon, he served as the Executive Director of the Macon Water Authority (1988-2002). He was also a 50 year member of the Atlanta Water Works Association (AWWA). He was a member of Vineville North (Northway) Baptist Church. Gene took great pride in his charity works and spreading the word of Jesus. He did this through many organizations: The Lottie Moon Mission Offering, Campus Crusade for Christ, the Kairos Prison Ministry, the Walk to Emmaus and Water for People, traveling to Honduras to help build water systems. Mr. Holcomb was predeceased by his brother, Robert Holcomb. Survivors include his wife 0f 54 years, Ann Bethune Holcomb; children, Libba Holcomb Griffin (Phil), Dr. Bill Holcomb, and Julie Holcomb Hayley (Ian); and grandchildren, Dylan Griffin (Brittany), Gaines Griffin, and Emma Hayley; as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. JeanetteHooks December 3, 1932 - January 16, 2015 Dublin, Georgia- Funeral services for Jeanette Hooks, age 82 will be held 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday January 20, 2015 in the Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory, with interment to follow in Northview Cemetery. Rev. William Sweat and Rev. Keith Evans will officiate. Mrs. Hooks was born on December 3, 1932 in Laurens County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late David and Eta Evans. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert B. Hooks, a daughter, Sandra Buchanan. Mrs. Hooks was a member of Minter Baptist Church. She was also a retired Sales Clerk for Rite Aid Drug Company. Mrs. Hooks passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Fairview Park Hospital. Mrs. Hooks is survived by her son, Jeff Hooks of East Dublin, 2 grandchildren, Jay (Jamie) Hooks of East Dublin, and Cherry (Josh Nettle) Hooks of East Dublin, and 1 great grandchild, Ralie Conley. Hunley, William Verlin - Knoxville  
William Verlin Hunley March 3, 1933 - January 17, 2015 Perry, GA- William Hunley, 81, entered into rest on Saturday, January 17, 2015. William was born on March 3, 1933 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He worked at Avondale's Dairy in Knoxville before joining the Air Force. William attained the rank of Master Sergeant working as an electrician and munitions specialist before retiring after twenty-one years of honorable service. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He then went on to work for eighteen years as an aircraft electrician on the F-15 and C130 at Robins Air Force Base. William enjoyed working on cars, gardening and raising goats and chickens. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. His parents, William and Mattie Hunley, preceded him in death. His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Rose Marie Hunley, Perry; children, Debra Kay Howell (Jeff), Lawrenceville, Georgia; William Verlin Hunley, Jr. (Dorothy), Bonaire; Judith Ann Fowler, Perry; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Hurley, Harriotte Winchester - Fernandina Beach  
Harriotte Winchester Hurley April, 18, 1928 - January 15, 2015 Fernandina Beach, FL- Harriotte Winchester Hurley, 86, of Fernandina Beach, FL died January 15, 2015. She was born in Macon, Georgia in 1928. After completing her undergraduate work at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA she began her Master's degree in Mathematics and Astronomy at Wellesley College. Before completing her Master's program, Harriotte returned to Macon, GA and married Robert W. Hurley, Jr. on December 27, 1950. Harriotte and Robert's family grew to 5 children in the 1950's. Along with being the matriarch of her family, Harriotte found time to perform secretarial and light accounting duties for Hurley Electric Company, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church and volunteer work with the Girls Scouts and the Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences. After their children completed their college degrees, Harriotte and Robert began their retirement in 1982 and moved to Fernandina Beach, FL where they lived side by side until Robert's death in 2010. Mrs. Hurley is survived by her brother Thomas H. Winchester, Jr., sons Robert (wife Sally) and Thomas (wife Laura), daughters Pat and Mary (partner Rhonda), grandsons John Hurley, Rob Hess, Tommy Hurley, and 1Lt. JT Hess, and granddaughter Dr. Anne Hurley-Bacon (husband Joel), and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hurley was preceded in death by husband Robert and daughter Harriotte Anne Hurley. A memorial mass was held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Fernandina Beach at 11 am, Monday, January 19, 2015 and a private graveside service is planned on her birthday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Macon, GA.
