Billie Cribbs Yaughn

Macon, GA- Billie Cribbs Yaughn went home to heaven on Thursday, February 27, 2014. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 2:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Yaughn was born in Hahira, Georgia and worked at RAFB, Davison's in downtown Macon and finally, Macon Hospital (now the Medical Center of Central Georgia), where she retired. She worked in the operating room and got the nickname "CrystoKid".
Mrs. Yaughn loved working in her yard and walking. She walked at Macon Mall until her health would not allow. Mrs. Yaughn also loved helping others. In retirement, she looked after family members and friends with health problems. She was an encouragement to others not to give up and set example by not giving up herself. Mrs. Yaughn was a long time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She will be missed by family and friends.
Mrs. Yaughn was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Yaughn; mother Josephine R. Cribbs; father, George Leslie Cribbs; sisters, Lorena Cox, Maudena Arnold, Ruth Taylor, and Catherine Booker.
Mrs. Yaughn is survived by many nieces and nephews to whom she was a 2nd mother; many great-nieces and great-nephews; many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, whom she as a grandmother too.
