Dear Mr. Robinson, Chris and Jackie,
I am saddened by your loss, which is all of our loss. I have such fond memories of her when I was a child. She was so welcoming and kind to me. I feel very fortunate that I got to know her again when I was an adult at the Sidney Lanier Cottage. She would come in and help with tours, or the gift shop, or a mailing. She would love to tell me about her grandchildren - so proud - and I loved hearing about all of you. My thoughts will be with you - In sympathy

Dear Robinson Family,
I was truly saddened to hear of the loss of your wife and your mother. I have many fond childhood memories with your family from our dads' days in the Senate together. I remember playing at the State Capital with Chris & Jackie, and our moms always watching us when we were kids because our dads were "in session". In fact,the first time I ever saw my father shed a "real" tear was the day that Sen Robinson resigned from the State Senate. I remember asking my dad what was wrong, and dad telling me that he wasn't going to get to work with his friend anymore. Your family has always had that kind of impact on ours.
Again, my deepest condolences to you and your family, and I will keep each of you in my thoughts and prayers.

I only recently learned of Irene's illness, and just today of her passing. Even though I haven't seen her in many years, I remember she was a kind and gracious lady. My heartfelt sympathy goes to all of her family in this time of reflection and loss.

Sheila and I were so saddened when we learned last night that Irene's battle with cancer was over. She was a beautiful and radiant woman who brought happiness to everyone in her presence. I just met Irene a few months back, but I was taken with her cheerfulness, she was down to earth, and easy to talk with. We visited her as a part of congressional care from Ingleside Baptist Church. We took cookies and flowers and visited and prayed with her. We visit those who are sick or dealing with the death or sickness of a loved one, those who are hurting. Although, I could not see any pain or hurt in her eyes. She seemed so content, so fulfilled. We sat and talked with her, as the family cat cuddled with us and it just seemed to be almost a social visit. I think she had her heart and her mind, and her house in order and was ready to meet her Lord. I loved her right away. My condolences go to all of the Robinson Family. Mrs. Robinson was my most influential teacher. I learned so much about myself in her REACH class at Rosa Taylor because she truly knew how to reach each student on a personal level and inspire them to want to learn. I can truly say that her influence is what made me want to be a teacher today. Your family is in my prayers. She will be truly missed.

Irene and I became friends during our years in the Macon Junior Woman's Club. When we would see each other while out and about, it always was so refreshing to be greeted by that cheery disposition and huge smile as we caught up on each other's lives.
