Dot Brewer
Gordon, GA- Dorothy (Dot) R. Brewer of Gordon, Georgia, peacefully left this world on March 18, 2014 at the age of 84. Mrs. Brewer was born February 23, 1930 in Lumber City, Georgia, moving to Macon, Georgia in 1951 and to Gordon in 1965. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Myrtle and Claude Renfroe; husband, Kebbie E. Brewer; son, Glenn R. Brewer; and brother Claude Renfroe Jr. She is survived by her children Kay (George Sebren) Brewer; Beth (Gary) Pendergraft; Don (Paula) Brewer; and Debbie (Carl) Gettys; brothers Wayne (Barbara) Renfroe; and Wesley (Dottie) Renfroe as well as grandchildren, Travis Tarpley, Elisabeth Carroll, Brooke Gettys, and Abbie Gettys. Great-grandchildren include Taylor, Ethan, Emma and Ella Carroll; and Grace and Jack Tarpley. She also has many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Dorothy worked at Belk in Macon for many years and retired from Georgia Farm Bureau. After her retirement, she loved spending time with and traveling throughout the world with her family and friends. She was very active and involved with her church, First Baptist Church of Gordon. and particularly enjoyed being a member of the choir.
What will be remembered most about Dot is her gentle character, enjoyment of life, and genuine love for her family and friends. She so loved her children, grandchildren and friends and that love is returned. We will all deeply miss her.
Visitation will be at First Baptist Church in Gordon on March 21 at 1:00. Services will follow at the Church at 2:00 with interment to follow in the private Brewer cemetery on Bob Martin Road. A Celebration of her Life will be held afterwards.
