Frances Hough Obituary

Frances E. Hough -HENDERSONVILLE, NC-Frances Evelyn (Baker) Hough, 75, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 15, 2012. She was born and raised in Macon, GA, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. I.F. Baker. It was in Macon where she met her beloved husband of 50 years, Walter A. Hough. She is also survived by her daughter, Winnie V. Hough and her daughter's partner, Sarah R. Briggs of Asheville, NC; her siblings Harold Baker and wife Jane, Matt Cummings and husband Alfred, and Cecil Baker, all of Macon, GA; as well as many loving relatives and friends. -In addition to Georgia and North Carolina, Frances lived in Virginia and Louisiana and also loved to travel. She was passionate about gardening and cooking and her generosity, hospitality and humor were gifts she shared with others. She was proud of her family as well as her many career achievements. She was a woman of great substance and style, whose role in the fashion industry culminated in her position as a St. John Specialist for Saks 5th Avenue in New Orleans. -Frances was a caring, thoughtful and loving person who touched many lives and will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at Thos. Shepherd & Son in Hendersonville on Sunday February 19th at 12:30 with visitation beginning at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The North Carolina Arboretum Society Tribute Program, 100 Frederick Law Olmsted Way, Asheville, NC 28806. -Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

Uncle Walter and Winnie,
I am so sorry for your loss. I pray that God will wrap his arms around you both and comfort you in the days to come.

I am really going to miss you Aunt Frankie.I imagine you are a beautiful angel and are enjoying reuniting with all your family. Send love to all, especially Mommie and Pappy!! I will always treasure the memories of our family get togethers and the fun times that we shared. I feel so blessed to have seen you recently at your's and Uncle Walter's 50th Wedding Anniversary.
