Houston Carl Loper
Milledgeville, GA - Houston Carl Loper (Golden Eagle) passed away on July 17, 2017. The family will greet friends Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Hart's Mortuary. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made to Bibb County Special Olympics, C.O. John Saikas: 5705 Kentucky Downs Dr., Macon, GA 31210.
Mr. Loper was born in Koenton, Alabama on June 10, 1944 and he grew up in Jackson, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University with an Industrial Management Engineer degree in 1967. Upon graduation, Mr. Loper went immediately to work with Georgia Power. Mr. Loper worked at the offices of Georgia Power in Vidalia, Macon, and Atlanta for a combined 30 years.
Mr. Loper was a member of the Jaycees, Optimist International and Sertoma Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, friends, family, Auburn football, and The Falcons. He participated in the ROTC at Auburn and he also served 6 years in Georgia National Guard.
Mr. Loper is survived by his wife, Jody Loper of 42 years; sons, Houston Lee Loper (Katie Nowell) of Raleigh, NC and Benjamin Carl Loper of Milledgeville; granddaughters, Ashley Loper and Hattie Loper; nephew, Patrick Saikas; and a niece, Taylor Hamlin. He was preceded in death by his parent's Houston and Jane (Phillips) Loper and his daughter, Carla Deanne Loper.

So very sorry to hear of your loss of Carl. Carl was such a good guy! Enjoyed our commutes when he and I use to ride from our homes here at Pineworth to the Georgia Power Company building downtown Macon(he could sure start your day out right with his laugh)!
