James Pittman Obituary

James H. Pittman 1930-2012 -EASTMAN- MR. JAMES HAYWOOD PITTMAN, SR., age 81, of Eastman, GA, died Saturday, February 25, 2012 in Dodge County Hospital. -Funeral services will be held at 2P.M. Monday, February 27 in Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Jerry Peele and Pastor Dahl McDermitt Jr. officiating, with interment in Orphans Cemetery. -Mr. Pittman was a member of the Eastman First Baptist Church, a former Sunday School Teacher of the Max O'Neal Sunday School Class for 25 years, a First Lt. of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, a 1952 graduate of Mercer University, a retired Entomologist for the Department of Agriculture APHIS Division, co-owner of J & J Printing and Office Supplies and son of the late Mattie Bell King Pittman and Harris Obed Pittman, Sr. He was preceded in death by a Daughter-in-law, J. C. Pittman and Brother, Harris Obed Pittman, Jr. -Survivors: Wife, Jaunita J. Pittman; Daughter, Carol Ann Logan (Al); two Sons, Buddy Pittman (Wendy) and Mike Pittman; five Grandchildren, Taylor Pittman, Jessica Lynn Logan, Mary Catherine Pittman, Megan Pittman and Bethany Pittman; three Sisters-in-law, Christine Pittman, Carol Dean Allison and Charlotte Mashburn; Brother-in-law, Steve Jackson (Pat); several Nieces and Nephews; Family Pet Cat, Thomas Pittman. -The family requests contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memphis, TN 38105. -Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman has charge of arrangements. -www.stokes-southerland.com
