J.D. Emory Obituary

Deacon JD Emory -MACON - Deacon JD Emory, 76, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Twiggs County to the late Mary Emory Jackson and was predeceased by his sister, Johnnie M. Foster. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10, 2010 at 11A.M. at St. Luke Baptist Church. Rev. Marshell Stenson will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. -Deacon Emory worked at City Wholesale and retired from J.M. Huber after 29 years of service. Later in life, he was known for his hearty "Hello" at Stewart's Produce at the Macon State Farmers Market. He was a member of St. Luke Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Deacon Board and Senior Usher Board. -Deacon Emory is survived by his number one, caring nurse, Vandetta Jones-Pinkard; God given daughters, Tesheika Stewart and Shermaine Pinkard; PaPa's girl, Aaeden Lillie Parker; nieces, Cassandra Johnson (Larry), Sacramento, CA and Samantha Foster, Atlanta, GA; and devoted nephews, Jesse Bivens, Reginald Pitts, and Roderick Cornelius. -The family may be contacted at 3403 Kingsview Circle, Macon, GA 31211. -Hicks & Sons Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
