Joe Studstill Obituary

Joe Mizell Studstill -ROCHELLE, GA - Joe Mizell Studstill, age 95, of Rochelle GA, formerly of Broxton, GA, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Dorminey Medical Center in Fitzgerald, GA. -Mr. Studstill, a native of Telfair County, GA, was born July 12, 1914; he is the son of the late John Colquitt, Sr. and Susanna Mizell Studstill. He is the widower of the late Norma Louise Davis Studstill. A graduate of Berry College, he received a Master's degree and a Specialist degree in Education from the University of Georgia. He was a member of the Merchant Marines two years during WWII and a member of the Broxton United Methodist Church since 1937; he was instrumental in the construction of the present Broxton United Methodist Church and Parsonage. He served in the education field for 38 years and was principal and coach at Broxton High School for 19 years. He was a master Gardener and frequently participated in the annual Coffee County Camellia Show where he won many awards. -Survivors include son, John Studstill and wife, Florence, Columbus, GA; daughter, Ginny S. Clack and husband, Donnie, Rochelle, GA; brother, Colquitt Studstill, Abbeville, GA; grandchildren, William Studstill and wife, Stephanie, Athens, GA; Ashley C. Eason and husband, Donovan, Macon, GA; Anna Cliett Clack and Jeffrey Owens, Rochelle, GA; niece, Joyia Lanier, Douglas, GA; nephew, Gordon Studstill and Joseph Studstill, Abbeville, GA. -Funeral services will be held at 11A.M., Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Broxton United Methodist Church in Broxton, GA with burial in the Broxton City Cemetery. -Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. -Sign Guestbook at simsfuneralhome.org
