Lake City, FL- Mr. Johnny Griffin, 91, most recently a resident of Lake City, FL and longtime resident of Macon, formerly of Ocilla, GA passed away March 24, 2013, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Broxton, Georgia to the late Thomas and Lucille (Wright) Griffin. Johnny retired from Temple Inland after a 38 year career and enjoyed spending time with his family, his many great friends and golf. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Ronald, and his wife, Edith.
He is survived by his son, Donny (Teresa) Griffin of Lake City, FL; daughter in law, Vickie Griffin; brother, Gene (Annette) Griffin; sisters, Grace Woodrum, Jewel Freeman, and Doris (Randy) Cowart; grandchildren, Heather (Tim) Rhodes, E. Ryan (Ryan) Matthews, Drew, Melanie, and James Griffin, and Kasey (Margot) Richmond;
great grandchildren, Raine and River Brooks, Collin and Paul Richmond and numerous other family. Very special friends Frank and Gail Buress also survive.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday; March 27, 2013 at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, Macon, Georgia with Rev. Ted Bass officiating.
Visitation with the family will be graveside one hour prior to service time. The family would like to recognize the Honorary Pallbearers, Holly Long, Raymond Douglas,
Cappy Durden, Jim Pickett, Alton Davis, Byron Clements, & Billy Atwater.
