Obie L. Bass
Sept. 17, 1926 - April 20, 2014
Cochran, GA- Obie L. Bass, age 87, died Sunday in the Medical Center in Macon. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Union Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Bass, a life long resident of Bleckley County, was the son of the late W.J. and Era Abney Bass. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Moses Bass, Sr. and sister Amye Bass Asbell. He was a farmer and former employee for the Georgia Forestry Commission. He was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Evelyn W. Bass of Cochran; children, David (Pat) Bass of Macon and Bobbie (Marty) Powell of Montrose; grandchildren, Shaun Lee (Tanya) Bass of Cochran, Casey (Debbie) Bass of Villa Rica, Brandi Powell of Dudley and Gina B. (Mark) Lord of Warner Robins; great granddaughter, Madison Bass of Villa Rica.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Hill Baptist Church, 812 Highway 126 E, Cochran, GA 31014.
The family is at 161 Smith-Sapp Road and will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at Mathis Funeral Home.
