Tom Hill, Jr., 88, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in a local hospital. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Riverside Cemetery entering thru the North Gate. Mr. Hill was born on February 26, 1924 in Macon, Georgia to the late Lois Tharpe Hill and Tom Hill, Sr. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After completing his tour, he and his father started a family construction business. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and shooting skeet. He was a member of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his sister: Julia H. Underwood Tuccinardi.
Mr. Hill is survived by his wife of 62 years: Amy Adams Hill of Macon; son: Tom Hill, III and daughter: Amy Hill Hartness; grandsons: Trevor Hill, Charlie Hartness and Sam Hartness all of Macon; sister: Louise H. Burkhalter and brother: Monroe (Marie) Hill; nieces: Holly Reeves, Judith Anne Underwood, Lou Warren, Sissie Maffeo, and nephews: Monty Hill and William Underwood.
