John W. and Faith Laverne Newberry
Macon, GA- Funeral services for John W. Newberry, 74, and Faith Laverne Newberry, 72, who died March 26, 2014 at their residence surrounded by family and friends, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Bowers Cemetery, Empire, Ga.
John, son of the late Newman E. Newberry and Bessie Ross Newberry, Faith Laverne Newberry, daughter of the late Joseph W. McGee and Frances Bryant McGee. They had been married since May 4, 1958. He was a retired truck driver with C.M.C. Supply Company and she was a homemaker. They were members of New Haven Church and he was an International Pentecostal Holiness Church licensed minister.
Survivors include: daughter, Fran (Todd) Johnson of Macon; sons, Joseph (Evelyn) Newberry of Haddock, John Newberry and Mark Newberry both of Macon and Larry (Gidget) Newberry of Barnesville; sisters, Lilly Mae Davidson, Reba Trotter, Rosa White and Margie Widner; 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
