Bonaire, GA- Samantha Van Alstyne, 25, entered into rest on Saturday, April 5, 2014.
Samantha was born on December 19, 1988 in Charleston, South Carolina. A 2007 graduate of Warner Robins High School, she participated in the marching band as a drum major. She continued her education at Georgia Southern University where she received her Bachelor's degree in Education. Teaching was Samantha's passion and she adored the children she taught. She loved singing, dancing, music, and her beloved pet dog, Griffin Oscar Caine. Her grandfathers, Paul Hammontree and John Quinn, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, Earl Van Alstyne III, Goose Creek, South Carolina; parents, Curtis and Kathleen Hammontree, Bonaire, Georgia; brother, Anthony Hammontree (Finley) and nephew, Nolan, Biloxi, Mississippi; grandmothers, Doris Hammontree, Warner Robins, Georgia and Penelope Quinn, Bonaire, Georgia; aunts, Pat Davis (Ray), Sheila Johnson (Jim), and Celena Wilson (Eldon); uncles, Rick Joyal (Kendra), and Paul Hammontree; and several cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Second Baptist Church with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to The Children's Hospital, c/o Medcen Community Health Foundation, 858 High Street, Macon, GA 31201.
