Warner Robins, GA- Gary Gregg Conlee, 60, entered into rest on Sunday, May 4, 2014.
Gary was born on June 10, 1953 in Guam to the late Gregg and Lucille Conlee. He was baptized and raised in the Lutheran faith. As a young man, Gary excelled in sports and was a good musician. After graduating from Northside High School, he served in the United States Navy and later retired from the USN Reserve.
He was married to DeLaney Conlee for thirty years and, although divorced, they remained close friends. He graduated from Mercer University and later earned a Master's Degree in Logistics. Gary worked as a civil servant for over thirty years including time as a social worker serving disadvantaged youths in Savannah and in logistics at Robins Air Force Base. He enjoyed seeing new places and traveled extensively. Gary had a good sense of humor and was a caring person who was always there for others in time of need. Gary had recently met and become very close to Mona Smith.
He is survived by siblings, Ronald D. Conlee (Neva) of Jacksonville, Florida, Steven M. Conlee (Tina) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Philip D. Conlee (Angela) of Savannah, Georgia and Stacey Green (Greg) of Warner Robins, Georgia; and several adoring nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. The family will greet visitors at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
