Louise McNeal Durham
July 7, 1917 - May 28, 2014
Macon, GA- Louise McNeal Durham, born July 7, 1917, passed to her eternal home Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Lynn Haven Nursing Home. Louise was raised in Ellaville, GA daughter of Mamie and Charles McNeal. She graduated high school in Ellaville and went on to get her college degree at Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, GA. Louise was married to dentist, Dr. Ralph Durham, for 33 happy years. She was a devoted wife to Ralph and mother of 3 children, Ginny, Bill and Jack. Louise was widowed at age 56 and went on to live a full life traveling across the US often with her beloved sister, Ruth Weston and once to Australia to visit Ginny and family. Louise's life was devoted to God and she served her Lord faithfully to the end at Vineville Baptist Church and Northway Church. She taught Sunday School for many years and was the director for Girl's Auxiliary. She especially loved working in the church history department, visiting shut-ins and sometimes took tea parties to them. She was a mighty prayer warrior for all of us.
Louise is survived by daughter Ginny Caldwell of Mission Viejo, CA and son Bill Durham of Milledgeville, GA, and daughter-in-law, Susan Durham and their families. Louise was an active grandmother with grandchildren Melanie, Neal, Elizabeth, Erin and Evan and great grandmother to Jagur and McNeal, Mason, Elora and Emberly.
Louise fought the good fight till the end and I am sure heard her Lord say "well done good and faithful servant." The reunion of family and friends in heaven would be a great celebration. Memorial services will be held at Northway Church at 11am on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Friends are invited to stay and visit with the family directly after the service.
