Terry Van Poland
July 4, 1959 - June 6, 2014
Milledgeville, GA- Terry Van Poland 54, passed away at his lakeside home on June the 6th after his battle with cancer. A private service will be held at a later date.
Born on the 4th of July, the son of Watson and Pearla Poland, he grew up in Macon. He graduated from UGA summa cum laude with a degree in criminal justice. He had been a senior executive with Macys and was currently a sales representative with SimplexGrinnell.
He had been a gentleman farmer and an occasional pirate on Lake Sinclair. He was the organizer of The Bovine Classic golf tournament held in Madison, a member of Milledgeville Country Club Men's Golf Association and a founding member of The Island Creek Ski Club.
He taught his children to embrace life, it's ups and downs and to live it to the fullest. He was a loyal UGA football fan, an avid fisherman and golfer.
He is survived by his wife Melissa Hood Poland, his daughter Amanda Mortimore (William) Nashville, his son Schiller Poland Nashville and his brother Kenneth Poland (Janet) Marietta.
