Louise Crouch Brumfield

Macon, GA- Services for Louise Crouch Brumfield will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Lizzieboro Baptist Church with burial in the family plot at Fort Hill Cemetery. Born in Bibb County, she was the daughter of the late, Louise Wilburn and the late, James P. Crouch and the grand-daughter of the late, Rev. R.C. Crouch, Sr.
Mrs. Brumfield was a member of Lizzieboro Baptist Church where she was a member of the Missionary Ministry for which she served as pianist.
After attending Clark College, she received the bachelor of science degree from Albany State University, and the degree of Master of Arts from Atlanta University, Florida A. & M and Pennsylvania State Universities, and the Educational Specialist degree from Atlanta University.
Mrs. Brumfield taught at Appling Senior High School as instructor of general and choral music. From an assistant principalship at Miller Junior High, (Central) she was promoted to principal of the same school.
She received the prestigious McKibben Love Award for excellence in teaching, Chairman of the Advisory Council for the Youth Development Center of Georgia, member of the Board of Trustees of Georgia Industrial Home, and was affiliated with many professional, social and civic organizations, and served as a committee member of Macon Chapter of United Negro College Fund.
Survivors include a daughter, Denise A. Wilcoxson; two granddaughters, Brooke Antoinette Wilcoxson and Charity Alise Wilcoxson and one, great-grandson, Carlin-Samuel Wilcoxson.
