Mary was a devoted member of First Methodist Church since 1959 when she moved to Georgia after being married to her husband, Larry Pugh of Hunlock Creek, PA on Feb. 7, 1959. She was a dedicated worker in The Warner Robins Little League program for over ten years, the Northside High School Booster Club and the food pantry delivery ministry of the church. She was a long time member of the Winmore Sunday School class.
She enjoyed needle work and delighted in making and giving away her work as gifts. She worked tirelessly in her flower gardens with beautiful results and gave many bulbs and plants to her friends. Much of her inspiration for gardening came from her frequent visits to Callaway Gardens. She enjoyed nature and was an avid walker, hiker, cyclist and an accomplished fisherman for bass and trout. She fly fished many streams in the East and several Western rivers. She was a true baseball fan and enjoyed watching the Braves with her family. She was a member of the swimming team in High School and remained a strong swimmer for many years and her favorite vacation spot was any good beach. She was Woman of the Year in her social sorority. She was completely supportive of her husband's work and was a true partner of her husband in corporate board and senior staff functions at Robins Air Force Base. Her inspired home holiday decorations, many of which were handmade, were a delight to her family and friends.
During her life, she spent many hours reading to her young children and grandchildren, believing that early reading was essential to good childhood development.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Larry Pugh, two sons, Bradley John Pugh and his wife Sharon and Douglas James Pugh and his wife Michelle, Four Grandchildren, Ryan Pugh, Aaron Pugh, Matthew Pugh and Kaitlyn Pugh and one great Grandchild, Chloe Pugh, daughter of Ryan Pugh, all of whom were very precious to her. She was a steady and calming hand for her family and she personified her steadfast dedication to the good Lord and complete trust in God.
