Stella Hill Purce Revard
June 9, 1933 - July 14, 2014
Saint Louis, MO- .Stella Hill Purce Revard, beloved wife, mother and renowned scholar, died July 14, 2014. Born in New York City, Stella graduated from Hunter College and earned a PhD from Yale. She was a professor at SIU Edwardsville. Internationally recognized for work in English literature, her many articles and books witness the depth of her learning. She is survived by her husband, four children, eleven grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2014, at University United Methodist Church, 6901 Washington Avenue, Saint Louis, Missouri. A private burial was held Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Forsyth City Cemetery, Forsyth, Georgia. The family will greet friends at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, 86 West Main Street, Forsyth, Georgia 31029, from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M., Thursday, July 24, 2014.
