Leola DeRamus
August 5, 1937 - August 2, 2014
Macon, GA- Leola Harris DeRamus was born August 4, 1937 to the parentage of Henry Sherman Harris and Beatrice George Harris in Twiggs County Georgia. She died on Saturday August 2, 2014 after a brief illness. She is a member of Chance Hill Baptist Church in Twiggs County and faithfully served in many different capacities.
For most of her career, from 1967 until her death, she worked for the Twiggs County Public School System as a Bus Driver and with the lunch room staff where she was an assistant supervisor. With almost 47 years with the school system she will be truly missed by many of the students she influenced.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Betty Jones, Macon Georgia and LeDora (Alton) Taylor; the grandson she raised as her own Weldon DeRamus; sister, Lollie Mae Deshazier; six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Services are 2:00 PM Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Chance Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Wake will be Friday 6:00-7:00 PM at Hutchings Funeral Home.
