GRAY, GEORGIA- Dr. Milton Harris "Doc" Hatcher, 83, of Deer Ridge Place, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, August 8, 2014, graveside at Cedar Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Tommy Jordan will officiate.
Dr. Hatcher was born December 9, 1930, in Thomson and had lived in Gray most of his life. He was the son of the late Milton Burns Hatcher and Marie Harris Hatcher. Dr. Hatcher honorably served his country with the United States Army and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia with the distinction of Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine. He was an avid fisherman and gardener and was preceded in death by his devoted dog, "Spotty."
Dr. Hatcher is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years: Margie Hatcher; daughter: Dawn Hatcher Etheridge; grandchildren: Joell Etheridge and Tallon Etheridge; step-sons: Lee Burkett, David Burkett and Roger Burkett; six step-grandchildren and by eight step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Central Baptist Church, Post Office Box 187, Gray, Georgia 31032.
