Mrs. Rose Cornelius Wilburn
Macon, GA- Funeral services for Rose Cornelius Wilburn will be at 11 A.M. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Swift Creek Missionary Baptist Church in East Macon. Pastor Keith McIntosh officiating. Interment services will follow 11 A.M. Monday, August 18, 2014 in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.
A Dry Branch native, Rose Lee was born to the parentage of the late Lewis and Katie Dees Cornelius. She was a 1958 graduate of Ballard Hudson High School. She was retired from the City of Macon Police Department Parking Division. She was the former First Lady of Kings Chapel CME Church in Perry and Fairview CME Church in Fort Valley. She was a member of Swift Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Macon.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Reverend John Lee Wilburn; children, Lionel Wilburn (Latonya), Markus Wilburn (Felicia), Jonica Martin (Isaac), Vincent Wilburn and James Brown (Carolyn); five Sisters; two Brothers; eight Grandchildren; two Great Grandchildren; two sisters -in-law, Willie Mae Slay and Doris Tharpe; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. in the sanctuary of Swift Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Macon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Swift Creek Missionary Baptist Church in memory of Rose Wilburn, 4354 Jeffersonville Road, Macon, Georgia 31217.
