Macon, GA- Mr. Johnny Statham, age 73, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in a local hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Johnny was born in Macon to the late Johnny Benjamin Statham and Myrtice Griner Statham and was retired from Keebler Company as a machine operator. He was a devoted husband and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. Johnny was a long time member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He coached for many years at Western Little League but his favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren play sports and attending their dance recitals. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman with his twin brother Jimmy until his death which had a profound impact on Johnny's life.
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his twin brother Jimmy and his two older brothers; Dillard and Kenneth.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife of more than 51 years, Freida Statham, his 3 sons; John Statham, Michael (Molly) Statham, and Scott (Nicole) Statham all of Macon, 6 grandchildren; Amber, Tyler, Michael, Ellie, Taylor, and Stephen, his sister-in-law Sue Statham of Macon as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 11:00 am with Father Kavanaugh officiating. A private burial, for family only, will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens later that afternoon.
