Byron, GA- Kenneth R. Holzer, 68, died Sunday, August 24, 2014. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road in Andersonville, Georgia. Family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Frederick and Irene Holzer, Mr. Holzer served in the United States Army, and was retired from the New York City Transit Authority. He was a Mets fan, and after retiring he worked at Shea Stadium. He had a passion for Lionel trains.
Survivors include his son, Stanley Major; grandchildren, Mandy Heilig, Richard Sala, Joseph Sala, Ave Sala, Joshua Wyatt, and Caleb Stevenson; and a nephew, Lance Tabano. He is preceded in death by his wife, Regina Holzer.
