Richard Eugene Atkinson -MACON - Richard Eugene Atkinson, 66, died Saturday, November 15, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11A.M. Monday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Burial will be private for family only. The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. -Mr. Atkinson was born in Winter Haven, Florida and was retired from the United States Air Force, where he served as a meteorologist for 22 years. He was the son of Evelyn Walker Atkinson and was a member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church. -Mr. Atkinson is survived by his wife, Lavon Lambert Atkinson of Macon; daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Larry Johnson of Dublin, Georgia, Teri and Walter Blume of Macon; father, Gene Atkinson of Winter Haven, Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law, Delores and Leroy Smith of Lake Wales, Florida, Patricia and Edward Gilpin of Mission, Texas; brothers, Wayne Atkinson of Winter Haven, Florida and John Atkinson of Lake Wales, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. -Visit www.MeM.com to express tributes. -Snow's Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Pio Nono Avenue, has charge of arrangements.
