Lizella, GA- Steve Allen Berkner, 56, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013. Funeral services and a celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Jelly officiating. The family will meet friends on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Steve was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Jerry H. and Mary L. Berkner. He was a graduate of Central High School and was retired from Robins Air Force Base as a Fire Department Dispatcher after twenty five years of service. He attended First Evangelical Church and was of the Methodist faith. Steve was a member of the "Flag City Mustang Club" and raced at the Silverdollar Racetrack in Reynolds and enjoyed building and restoring Mustangs. He was a devoted and loving son, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by his siblings, Brenda (John) Wilkinson of Lizella, Jerry (Cindy) Berkner of Byron, Debra Leclair of Lizella, nieces and nephews, Scott (Lynn) Baker, Stephanie (Charles) Reeves, Chad (Sharon) Berkner, Wendy and Tracy Berkner, Joey and Jennifer Leclair, great nieces and nephews, Caden, Taylor, Jessy, Payton, Scott, Lacie, and Carson.
