Danville / Locust Grove, GA- George Gerald Griner of Danville and Locust Grove, Georgia died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, following a lengthy illness at the age of 82.
Services will be held Saturday June 1, 2013 at 11:00AM in Faith Baptist Church in Locust Grove, GA. Burial will be at 3:00PM in Lucy Chapel UMC Cemetery in Danville, GA. Larry Krissell and Keith Simmons will officiate.
Gerald was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on November 11th 1930, to George E. Griner and Ruby Ernest Griner. He was a faithful Christian and never neglected an opportunity to help those in need. He meant the world to his family and although he will be missed deeply by his family and friends and are we blessed to celebrate a life well lived. Gerald attended Seminary in Lakeland, Florida and Little Rock Arkansas. In August of 1950, Gerald married his sweetheart Pansy Bozeman. During his life, Gerald served his community as a firefighter, first responder and minister. His first love was serving the Lord and others. Gerald served God throughout his life through mission work. He had a burden to reach those in need of salvation and attempted to witness to all who he came in contact with. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and by a younger sister, Delilah Gammage.
Surviving relatives include his faithful wife Pansy; his loving daughter Pamela Griner DaPrano, his son-n-law David A. DaPrano, three grandchildren, Brian (Alicia), Shawn (Missy), and Amber. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Alexander, Brailey and Andrew. Gerald considered his grandchildren and great-grandchildren the pride and joy of his life and never missed an opportunity to enjoy playful and loving moments with them. Gerald is also survived by one brother Louie Griner, three sisters Sylvia Thornton, Betty Moat, Bernett Matthews, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday in Faith Baptist Church.
