Punta Gorda, FL- Jerry Wayne Barnett, Sr., 63, entered into rest on Monday, January 27, 2014.
Jerry was born on February 15, 1950 in Perry, Georgia and resided in Punta Gorda, Florida. He was self-employed as a wholesale car dealer and member of Southside Church of God in Warner Robins.
Jerry was gifted with a beautiful voice. He had a deep love for music and was the lead singer for the Southwind Blue Grass and Gospel Band in Punta Gorda, Florida. Jerry also had a love for riding motorcycles and was an active member of the Southwest Chapter of ABATE of Florida. He was on the Board as Advertising Trustee.
His mother, Ruby Rustin; brother, Terry Richie; and uncles, James Lee Neal and William Neal, Jr. preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, Jerry Barnett, Jr. (Katie), Tasha Barnett (Sammy Simmons), and Tony McHale (Megan); grandchildren, Breanna Barnett, Landon Joyner, Gracie and Micah Davis, Avery, Haylee and Carly McHale, Devin Barnett and Amanda Mills; brothers, Richard Rustin (Wendy) and Johnny Rustin (Tiffany); aunts, Sue Edwards of Punta Gorda, Florida, Barbara Ann Waite of Ocala, Florida and Hazel Brooks of Macon; several cousins and a number of nieces and nephews; mother to Jerry and Tasha, Jean Foushee; and his beloved soul mate, Jackie Barnett.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at The Well Church, 6258 Thomaston Road, Macon, GA 31220. Reverend Sue Jackson officiating.
