Ervin Cooper

Ervin Frank Cooper was born on February 26, 1952 to the late Deforrest Algood Cooper and Margaret Pruitt Cooper in Gadsden, Alabama. He was one of five siblings born to this union.

On November 26, 1982 Ervin married Nona Sue Taylor. Together the two of them spent thirty-one years loving and caring for one another.

Ervin spent seventeen years in the metal industry working for Martin Metals. At the age of thirty-six, Ervin was saved by the Lord and got his ticket home.

In his spare time, Ervin enjoyed working outside. He took great pride in mowing his yard, and caring for the flowers and landscaping. He also enjoyed watching the television show "Gunsmoke". Most of all Ervin loved to be with his family; especially his grandson.

On February 14, 2014 the Lord called Ervin home. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him, but our loss is heavens gain.

Funeral services for Ervin Frank Cooper were conducted Sunday, February 16th at 11 am from Grace Baptist Church in Lafayette, TN with Reverend Landy Presley officiating. Kirk Wix, Josh Taylor, Patrick McCormick, Chris Steele, Jessie Rollin, and Red Rollin served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the New Bethel Cemetery.

rvin is survived by; Wife, Sue Cooper of Lafayette, TN, Son, Robert Cooper of Birmingham, AL, Daughter, Melissa (Mike) Rice of Chattanooga, TN, Son, Justin (Marcy) Samples of Lafayette, TN, Grandson, Malachi Rice of Chattanooga, TN, Brothers, Bobby (Gaynell) Cooper of Gadsden, AL, Baron (Sue) Cooper of Fyffe, AL, Sisters, Helen (Jr.) Harris of Lafayette, TN, Faynell Green of Gadsden, AL, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
