Alan Randall Childers(Nov. 30, 1947 - March 31, 2014)

LONDON - Alan Randall Childers, 66, of London, died Monday, March 31, 2014.
Born Nov. 30, 1947 in Coles Co., Ill., a son of William Childers and Marjorie (Buckley) Baker.
Alan graduated from Mt. Morris High in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, which he received the Purple Heart. He drove a truck for Columbus Coal & Lime and was an avid Michigan sports fan.
Survived by his mother and stepfather, Marjorie and Evan "Al" Baker of Mt. Morris, Mich.; wife, Cloris (Scott) Childers; children, Tony Childers of London, Brian (Lisa) Childers of Reese, Mich., Kimberly Childers Gonzalez of Joliet, Ill., Misty England of Indianapolis, Ind.; stepdaughters, Jenny Wilson of Mt. Sterling, April Wilson of London, Angela Hundley of Columbus; 16 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Linda (Gilbert) Burns of Mt. Morris, Mich. and Cheri Childers of Sullivan, Ill.; brothers, Robert (Barb) Childers of Gays, Ill., Rick Childers of Allenville, Ill., Jeff (Debbie) Baker of Mt. Morris, Mich.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded by father; sister, Eula McConnahay; grandchildren, Zel and Cloude Earles.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 4, at Faith Assembly Church (U.S. Route 40), where a celebration of Alan's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014, with Rev. Jerry Poff officiating. Interment in Deercreek Township Cemetery, with military honors presented by American Legion Madison Memorial Post No. 105 Honor Guard.
Contributions are asked to be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
