Barbara (Keller) Hock Wilson(Dec. 27, 1924 - Feb. 19, 2013)

Barbara (Keller) (Hock) Wilson, 88, of London, Ohio, formerly of Largo, Florida, passed away peacefully in the presence of her daughter at 4:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Madison County Hospital/Hospice after a week in ICU following a heart attack on Feb. 11. Mrs. Wilson's health had been failing for a number of years during which time she remained in assisted living at Sister's on Elm receiving excellent care.
Mrs. Wilson was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of Robert and Marian Rose (Kohler) Keller.
She grew up in Columbus and Madison County, Ohio.
She graduated from Canaan High School in 1943 and attended Paris Business College, Paris, Texas, while stationed there with her husband William (Bill) Hock during World War II in 1945. During her yearly years, she was quite active in London, Ohio with a local sorority and as a 4-H leader. In the mid 1950s she was selected as Mrs. London and represented London in the Mrs. Ohio Competition. She was Co-Chair of the Madison County Republican Party during the Nixon-Kennedy Campaign in 1960.
Later in life Barbara married Robert Wilson and moved to Florida upon his retirement from the Air Force. In Florida she continued her commitment to community service and became involved as a volunteer with the Neighborly Center-Meals on Wheels program. Her hard work and dedication to serving the elderly community in the St. Petersburg-Clearwater community did not go unobserved. As the nonprofit corporation's Coordinator of the Meals On Wheels program she was responsible for over 1,000 meals a day when she retired in 1994.
Following her retirement, she returned to Ohio to be near her daughters and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert (Bob) Keller and Marion Rose (Kohler) Keller of Plain City, Ohio; sister, Elizabeth (Bette) Lewis; eldest daughter, Susan Hock Eades and grandson Ryan Patrick Montgomery of Zanesville, Ohio.
Survived by her daughter, Nancy Hock (Thomas) Montgomery of Zanesville; grandchildren, Gregory (Barbara) Eades, Amber (Larry) Booghier, Marc Eades, Megan Eades, Shane (Sandy) Montgomery, Andrea Karling, Jeremy (Lisa) Montgomery, Thomas J. (Kelly); great-grandchildren, (Greg) Adam, Zack, and Sydney Eades, (Amber) Kerri Eades, Alexis and Taylor Booghier, (Marc) Brittney Eades (Betty Ansel), (Megan) Brooklyn, (Shane) Tanner and Trent Montgomery,(Andrea) Tyler, Amanda, and Brett Karling, (Jeremy) Mya and Ivey Montgomery, (T J) Cameron and Kiya Montgomery, (Ryan Patrick) Ryan Elizabeth Montgomery; sister, Mary Lee Keller (Jim) Foit (daughters) Amy and Molly, (Betty) Becky and Bobby; many friends and a devoted staff at Sisters, Inc.
The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the RADER-LYNCH & DODDS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 124 E. High St., London. Following the viewing, graveside services will be conducted by Rev. Gordon Johnson at Paint Township Cemetery.
