Calvin R. "Popeye" Loy, 83, of Plain City, passed away peacefully Monday morning, March 11, 2013, at Dublin Methodist Hospital after a recent illness.
Born May 14, 1929, in Arnold, Ohio.
Member of the Living Waters Church of God and active with the Young at Heart church group. He had a passion for music and sharing his passion with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by parents, Nimrod and Effie (Clark) Loy; wife of 52 years, Fleeda "Babe" Loy in 2002; brothers, George, John, Francis "Boob" and Floyd; sister, Geneva Harriman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita Loy, Virginia Loy, Virgil Wright, Bob Hayes, Ron Speakman, Fred Petrich and Jim Harriman; father and mother-in-law, Floyd and Clara Wright.
Survived by loving children, David, Rick (Joyce), Beverly (Robert) Allegree, Donna (Larry) Cantrell, Jimmie (Robin), Kenny (Twana); 16 grandchildren, Tracy, Jason, Angel (Matt), Jennifer, Daniel (Amy), Jimmie II (Kristi), Becky (Scott), Joseph (Kelly), Eric, Andrew (Kim), Jeremiah (Amanda), Brandi (Jason), Tiffany, Amber, Brittany (Miguel), Joey (Kayleigh); and the pride of his life were his great-grandkids, Alexis, Autumn, Emily, Devon, Taryn, Jasmin, Taylor, Jeslyn, Megan, Aiden, Parker, Ethan, Bayla, Colton, Natalie, Lane, Isabella, Calli, Teagin, Ryder and soon to be Zoe; sister, Ruth Hayes; sister-in-laws, Molly Wright and Ella Jean Speakman.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at the Living Waters Church of God, 10910 U.S. Route 42 North, Marysville, where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013. Pastor Jack Marcum will be officiating. Burial will be at Jerome Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Living Waters Church of God in Popeye's Memory.
