Candace Marie Plant(Feb. 8, 1917 - Jan. 31, 2014)

WEST JEFFERSON - Candace Marie Plant, 96, born Feb. 8, 1917, resided on Lucas Road, Plain City, passed away on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 surrounded by family members.
Lifelong resident of Madison County and lived several years in Plumwood and West Jefferson.
She is survived by sons, Ron and Joan Smith, Ed and Carol Smith, Eldon and Rita Smith; daughters, Mary Wells and Betty Gooden; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 34 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Oman Smith and Reuben Plant; sons, Bobby and Raymond Smith; four brothers; and four sisters.
Candace worked at Dillion's Grocery in Resaca, Dave's Grocery in Plumwood and the 76 Truck Stop.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Plumwood United Methodist Church and the Unionville Center United Methodist Church as she was affiliated with both.
Visitation Service will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at the RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, 1355 W. Main St., West Jefferson, where Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Pam Connolly officiating. Burial will follow in Plumwood Cemetery.
