Clara Louise (Titus) Funderburgh(April 11, 1922 - Jan. 2, 2013)

Clara Louise (Titus) Funderburgh, 90, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in Forest Glen Nursing Home.
She was born on April 11, 1922, to Jesse L. "Jack" and Cletha (Davis) Titus.
Louise graduated from Southeastern High School in 1940 and was the last surviving member of her class. After high school she graduated from Frederick's Beauty Academy and pursued a lifetime career in Cosmetology. Louise was a pioneer for women in business, having owned and operated several businesses in the '60s, '70s, and '80s. At the peak of her career she had three Beauty Salons and a Merle Norman Studio with locations in West Jefferson, London and South Charleston, Ohio. Louise had been an employer, mentor and friend to hundreds of Beauticians throughout her lifetime.
She was an accomplished seamstress, having made many clothes for her family and friends. She was also a talented artist who loved to draw and paint flowers and country scenes. Louise loved playing cards with her friends in London, Ohio and at the Women's Town Club.
During the winter months Louise and her husband lived in Key Largo, Florida.
She is survived by her son, Paul Funderburgh II (Tami Prince) from South Vienna; two sisters-in-law, Louise Funderburgh of Woodstock, Ohio. Mary Funderburgh of Springfield; a special cousin, Ruth Ann Maul of Hilliard, Ohio; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Dorothy (Edminston) Titus; her husband of 62 years, Paul Funderburgh Sr.; and a daughter Ann Jo Young. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Services are under the direction of LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 830 N. Limestone St., Springfield.
