Clyde Shannon


LONDON — Clyde H. Shannon, 84, of London, died Friday morning, Jan. 10, 2014 in his home.

He was born in Lancaster, Ohio on March 9, 1929, a son of Eli and Lulumae (Tucker) Shannon.

Clyde graduated from London High School Class of 1947. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of the London First United Methodist Church and London Aerie No. 950 F.O.E. He played baseball and was an outstanding shortstop, loved music, football and golf, but most of all he loved his wife Vera.

He was retired from LOCI.

Survived by daughter, Teresa Jo Shannon of Amarillo, Texas; son, Rick (Terry) Timmons of London; grandchildren, Brandon and Kimberly Timmons, Vanessa Hatfield; great-grandchildren, Jasper Timmons, Jacob Mogan and Blayke Hatfield; nieces and nephew, Lori Ann, Lin and Chris Shannon; special caregivers, Gina York and the Visiting Angels.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera (Leach) Shannon (9-28-2013); brothers, Robert and Gerald Shannon; and son, Larry Timmons.

Friends may call at the RADER-LYNCH & DODDS FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, 124 E. High St., London, from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, where service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, with Rev. Clarence Hensel officiating. Interment will follow in Kirkwood Cemetery.
