Dorothy Mae Severt, 95, of South Charleston, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Glaesner Health Center at Oakwood Village, Springfield.
She was born May 2, 1918 in Madison County, Ohio, to the late Clarence W. and Florence E. Chamberlain Sonner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis F. Severt in 1973. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by two sons, Dennis G. and Ernest M. Severt.
She was a member of the South Charleston United Methodist Church for over 75 years, the Progressive Bible Class, the Rebecca Circle, Avon Presidents Club 1955-2004, Green Thumb District Supervisor for many years and had farmed from 1939-1973 with her husband.
She is survived by her sons, Clarence W. (Jerilyn) Severt of London, Robert F. Severt of Springfield, Edmund E. Severt of Maysville Kentucky; one daughter, Marilyn S. Severt Morrow (John C.) Sheppard of South Charleston; 13 grandchildren, David Morrow, Robert, Robin, Michael and Christopher Severt, Beth Zein, Ronald Severt, Susan Finley, Amy Mancini, Tammy Stoops, Melissa Helton, Julie Novotny and Todd Severt; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the South Charleston United Methodist Church. Rev. Jeff Smalley will be officiating. Friends may call at the Ingling Williams and Lewis Funeral Home, 24 N. Chillicothe, in South Charleston, from 5-8 p.m on Tuesday, June 25.
Memorial contributions may be made to the South Charleston United Methodist Church memorial fund.
