GENE R. WILSON
LONDON - Gene R. Wilson, 87, of London, Saturday, July 12, 2014, 8:51 p.m., Doctors Hospital West, Columbus.
Gene was born Jan. 24, 1927 in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of Douglas and Eva (Lyons) Wilson.
He was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church, London. He served in the United States Navy
during World War II
and was a Cub Scout leader with Pack No. 102, London. Gene retired from Quality Farm and Fleet, London and had been employed by Otis Elevator for the entire time Otis was in London.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of almost 65 years, Donna (Sesler) Wilson; daughter, Patricia Lynne (Tom) Eades of London; son, Mark A. (Kathleen) Wilson of Blacklick, Ohio; brothers, M. David (Karolyn) Wilson of Arizona, Bob Wilson of London; grandchildren, Carrie Beth (Brian) Scheetz and Cathy (Ryan) List; great-grandchildren, Madison List and Lucas Scheetz; nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, Reverend Sue McClelland officiating, at the RADER-LYNCH & DODDS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 124 E. High St., London. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
